FOUR men from Cam and Dursley have denied intimidating and attacking a witness in a criminal case.

They pleaded not guilty to all charges against them when they appeared before Gloucester Crown Court on Friday. Judge Jamie Tabor QC granted them all bail pending trial on January 11.

The accused are: Connor Campbell, 18, of Everlands, Cam; Kaine Emery, 19, of Frederick Thomas Road, Dursley; Callum Watts, 19, of Turner Road, Cam; and Jamie Eyre, 23, of Meadowleaze, Cam West.

All four denied assaulting Kai Hilton causing actual bodily harm on February 17 this year.

They also denied intimidating him knowing that he was a witness in criminal proceedings and intending to pervert the course of justice.

Watts also denied having a bladed article on February 8 at the Old Bell Hotel, Dursley, and also having a bladed article on a number 61 bus.

Emery also denied a threat to kill Toni Hilton on February 22, while Campbell denied threatening to harm a witness and burglary.

Lisa Hennessy, defending, said she expected the trial to last five days and Judge Tabor agreed.

He adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on November 27, ahead of the January trial, and warned them that if they contacted prosecution witnesses in any way they would be remanded in custody.
