TRIBUTES have poured in for a popular 26-year-old man who was killed in a head-on crash in Wickwar.


Jack Addle died after his car collided with an oncoming vehicle on the B4509 on The Downs in Wickwar, on Monday afternoon.


The 26-year-old was travelling from Charfield towards The Quarry in a Citroen Saxo when the crash with a BMW happened, just before 5pm.


Jack, from Wickwar, died at the scene of the accident. The condition of the driver of the BMW is currently unknown.


Flowers have been placed on the road in memory of Jack, who was a student at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School in Wotton-under-Edge from 2000 to 2005.


In a statement on behalf of Jack’s family, his sister Joanne Green wrote the following message:


"Jack was a loving son, grandson, brother and uncle.


"Jack loved his music and his football.


"He was a cheeky chappie, always with a smile on his face, except when his beloved Liverpool lost!


"He was our Jack The Lad.


"Sleep peacefully our Jack, you will be in our thoughts forever. Gone but not forgotten. Cherished and loved. Our special boy. We will all be together again one day.


"We will always love you.


"Love, Mum and dad, Joanne and Charlie, Christopher, Natalie and Lois, James and Harvey, and Grandad Merv."


Headteacher at KLB, Andrew Harris, said Jack was “very popular in his year group and had some very good friends.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”


Jack attended music sessions hosted by drum and bass promoter Clinical Beats in Bristol.


Henry Hemmings and Scott Feltham, founders of Clinical Beats, said: “Jack was always smiling, laughing and loving life. He was part of the furniture in our close-knit family at Clinical Beats from the start and will be very sorely missed by us all.


“Our events, studio sessions and road trips will not be the same without his huge character present.”


Clinical Beats artist Dan Ball, known as ‘Dinge’, has written a poem in memory of Jack, which includes the lines:


“Addle, now there’s gonna be so many rainy days


"It’s a good job I got some new wiper blades


"Addle, who’s gonna talk the random slang


"Now you’ve been taken away from our gang.”

Bex Pegler said: “He was the most down to earth person ever and the randomest lol. Always had a smile on his face and a pleasure to be around, even on your darkest days Jack could make them your brightest.”

Jamie Eyre said: “Jack Addle, where do I start because there aren’t many words that describe you as in my eyes you was one of a kind and could change the atmosphere anywhere you were.

“You were loved by so many people and now sadly have to be missed by so many.  I got nothing but great memories with you and one day I'll see you again sleep things tight bro RIP.”

Another tribute says: “Jack, you never failed to make anyone smile or laugh with your crazy sense of humour.

“You're going to be very missed by alot of people. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace Jack, a true legend. Lots of love, Nico, Zoey and Masie Mae.”

"I’ve known Jack a very long time what an incredible young man he was always laughing and joking never a dull moment.  Jack could cheer anyone up Instantly a ray of sunshine.


“Can't believe the tragedy of such a young life, sleep tight Jack always in our thoughts special character. xxxxx lucy, drew, Tyler and millie xxxxx.”


The Yate and Clinical crew said:

"There are no words to describe this situation
Which has caused so many people such pain and devastation
None of us understand why, it's caused so much frustration
I guess god just wanted you with him, no room for negotiation

“Funny and witty, you were one of a kind,
We just can't believe you've left us all behind,
You were a legend but now you've been reassigned,
I hear your headlining main room in the sky

“Going to miss that cheeky little face,
We'll remember you when we hear the drums and bass,
Jack Addle you can never be replaced,
You were a legend, a gift to the human race.”

Another, says: “Just writing in memory of Jack miss you Jack, miss seeing your happy crazy face every time we met in the Kingswood high street in the cars. Sleep tight Angel lots of Iove Fran.”

James Rossiter, secretary of Wickwar Wanderers FC, said: “Jack played for us as a Youth player right through to the seniors.

“Great little player, very quick and skilful and he knew where the goal was.

“His sense of humour on the pitch and in the changing room will never be replaced - he was full of life and had a heart of gold.

“We will miss him.”


Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash.
