RESIDENTS across South Gloucestershire will benefit from better direct bus services to Southmead Hospital this weekend.
Service changes agreed by South Gloucestershire Council and local bus operators, which will start tomorrow, aim to provide a greater number of residents with a direct bus service to the hospital.
The council has been working with local bus operators to look for opportunities to make it easier for residents to have the option to travel by bus rather than taking the car.
Areas that will now have access to a direct service to Southmead Hospital under the new changes include; Easter Compton, Hanham Common, Patchway, Pilning, Severn Beach and Thornbury.
Mark King, head of StreetCare and Transport, said: “The number of bus services within South Gloucestershire have increased which is fantastic.
“We now have more direct services to Southmead Hospital than ever before and it is good to see the direct services as an option for some of our rural villages too.”
