A NEW lighting system at Peg Hill Skate Park in Yate has been switched on.
The lights, which young people who use the skate asked the park’s owners Yate Town Council to provide, have been turned on in time for autumn, switching on at dusk and automatically going off at 8pm.
Cllr Alan Monaghan, chairman of the council’s environment and planning committee, said: “This is just what the users asked Yate Town Council to install and I am delighted that the work was completed before the autumn evenings began to draw in.
“Disruption was kept to a minimum and the lighting will help to make Peg Hill a more welcoming and secure area.”
