YATE TOWN have added another new name to their squad with the signing of Kane Ingram from Weston-super-Mare.

The midfielder or forward, who celebrates his 28th birthday in 19 days time, is a former Bristol City player and had two spells at Weston.

Now he will join 19-year-old Liam Monelle as the second signing in a matter of weeks and will further bolster the frontline.

However, as one player comes in, another leaves with Josh Morgan-Williams leaving to join Paulton Rovers.

Manager Craig Laird said of his new signing: “He is a good player. I think he will take a bit of pressure off the other players.

“He has got a strong character and is a very good, physical player. He can play in midfield or as a striker.”

Ingram only became available on Wednesday and Laird did not hesitate in snapping him up with a view to adding him to the squad for this weekend’s big Bank Holiday programme which begins with an FA Cup clash at Brockenhurst on Saturday and then a Lodge Road clash with Mangotsfield United in the Southern League Division One South and West on Monday.

Laird will not have defender Camen Harvey available for the weekend after he cracked two ribs in their 4-0 victory over Slimbridge last weekend, while Darren Edwards is also unavailable for Saturday but is set to return on Monday.
