A FREE fair for older people to find out what services are available to them is being held in Chipping Sodbury next week.
The event, at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall on Tuesday, September 8 (10am-12.30pm), is aimed at the over 65s and will feature stalls and displays from organisations which support older people including the Alzheimer’s Society, Avon Fire and Rescue Service and Wiltshire Farm Foods.
Sophie Rowland-Jones, managing director of Bluebird Care South Gloucestershire which is organising the fair, said: “The over 65-year-olds play an important part in our society.
“Not only have they contributed in previous years to the development of civic life, but they also add greatly to the economy, and give hundreds of hours of voluntary time to community groups.”
There will be free refreshments and a performance by the University of the Third Age’s ukulele band. Bluebird Care will also be running dementia friendly sessions.
