VOLUNTEERS who want to help stage next year’s Chipping Sodbury Festival are being urged to attend the annual meeting next week.

Planning for the 2016 festival, which will take place from Friday, June 10 until Sunday, June 19, is already underway but with a number of long-serving committee members stepping down, it is hoped some new helpers will come forward.

Several pivotal roles need to be filled to organised the 10-day festival, which this year marked its 30th anniversary, featuring workshops, talks, concerts, art displays, a duck race, carnival procession and free music in the street evening.

Current vice-chairman Jim Elsworth said: “At the AGM the committee will be recapping on the past event and looking forward to an even better festival next year.

“The organisers are looking for ideas for the future and looking for help to keep up the standard.”

The meeting takes place in St John’s Church Centre, Wickwar Road, on Monday, September 21 (7.45pm).
