PEOPLE from far and wide travel to family-run The Fox Inn, tucked away in Old Down.
Landlord Phil Biddle, 55, has been running the 18th century inn with his wife Lynn, 55, for 15 years.
It is a popular, traditional and cosy pub which is loved by locals and passer-bys, with its low, oak-beamed ceilings, log fire and popular beer garden.
Mr Biddle said the business, which is also run with the help of his 27-year-old daughter Jes (pictured above with Phil and Lynn), focuses on tradition and aims to be an ‘old-type pub’.
“We are family and dog-friendly, and this is very much a family-run business,” he said.
“Our other staff have been with us for years too, so it is like a big family.
“We have six real ales, four lagers and four ciders and outstanding food, which is all home-cooked and sourced locally, from local butchers and grocers.
“We have loved running the pub for the past 15 years – we have locals who come back but lots of our customers travel to us from far and wide.”
Pub-goers can enjoy live music from local bands on the first Saturday of every month.
There is also a small children’s room as well as a play area in the pub garden and a well lit verandah outside which is covered by a grapevine.
