A CHIPPING Sodbury beautician has been shortlisted to win Professional Beauty Awards Therapist of the Year.

Marie-Louise Coster, who runs All About Mi from her home in Hartley Close, is in the running for the prestigious national award for the second consecutive year.

The awards, dubbed the Oscars of the beauty industry, recognise those who make a real difference in the industry and Marie-Louise, who has 21 years experience in beauty, is thrilled to have been nominated again.

The 37-year-old said: “To make it as a finalist out of the many hundreds of therapists in the country is a huge achievement in itself, not to mention that this is the second year I have done so.

“To win would be an amazing honour and a recognition of my 21-year career in the industry as well as something to give back to my loyal clients who have supported me over the years within my businesses in Bristol and Chipping Sodbury.”

Marie-Louise, who previously worked for Guinot and taught at Bath College, started her own business in 2011 and has fast become recognised for her skills across the country. She is a feature writer for the Guild News, given presentations at national beauty exhibits and expanded her company to include training schools as far away as Scotland.

She said this year had been particularly exciting for the firm.

“This has been a very exciting year for All About Mi as in August we were awarded Habia Endorsed Training Provider for the training side of the business,” she said.

“This is an extremely high accolade to achieve and one that is not awarded lightly.

“It was also in August that I was given the role of community fundraising champion for the cosmetic charity Look Good Feel Better for who I have volunteered for the last 16 years. “This wonderful charity supports women and teenagers deal with the visible side effects of cancer.”

Marie-Louise, who also had her first child this year, will now travel to London in November for the final judging stages and the awards themselves will be announced in February next year.
