A COMMUNITY consultation about housing needs in Olveston will take place later this month.

Residents have recently received a copy of the Olveston Housing Needs Survey, a confidential questionnaire undertaken in partnership between South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) and Olveston Parish Council.

The survey is being carried out to establish if there is a need for affordable housing in the parish as well as to identify demand in the private market for starter homes and homes for downsizing.

If the findings of the survey demonstrate that there is a need for affordable housing, it may be used to support a planning proposal for the development of a rural exception site within the parish.

The drop-in community consultation takes place at Olveston Parish Hall on November 12.

The event runs from 3pm to 7pm when representatives from SGC will be on hand to answer questions about the survey.

The findings of the survey will be available during spring 2016.
