A MAN'S body has been found in Bristol harbour.

Police are appealing for the public's help to find out what happened after the body, believed to be Andrew Bakehouse, from the Redcliffe area of Bristol, was discovered on November 21.

Officers were called to Redcliffe Quay shortly before 12.45pm by a member of the public who found the body in the water. Avon Fire and Rescue Service and the harbourmaster helped to recover the body from the water.

Police said although formal identification has not yet been completed, it was believed to be Andrew Bakehouse, 49. His next of kin have been informed.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are now calling on members of the public who may have seen Andrew in the days leading up to yesterday.

Detective Simon Jones said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with Andrew’s family.

“We now need to piece together his movements prior to yesterday afternoon. We would ask anyone who might have seen or heard from Andrew in the last few days to come forward.

“Any information, regardless of how insignificant you think it might be, could be crucial to this investigation.”
