Ten to go!

IT’S THAT time of year that everything has become a countdown.

A rather Christmassy friend exclaimed on social media this morning that there are only four more Fridays until Christmas, I have another friend who is merrily counting down their working days until the end of the year, my four children are counting down the days until the end of term and Mrs CBSlade keeps reminding me there are only 31 shopping days until Christmas (I’m sure she thinks I’ll forget otherwise!).

So what is the problem with an end of year countdown?

The easy answer is nothing.

The problem in our industry however is the slowdown that comes with it.

We are already hearing reports of other agencies beginning the gentle wind down to the end of the year and proudly announcing opening times (or more accurately, closed times!) over the festive period but we still have 10 per cent of the year to go!

Usain Bolt wouldn’t slow down at 90 metres.

You wouldn’t stop a mile from home in your ten mile commute.

A nurse certainly wouldn’t stop caring for their patients over an hour before the end of a shift so why would an estate agent not push hard for the remaining 10 per cent of the year?

Our plan is to finish strong with as much effort in the last ten per cent as we did in the first ten per cent (and the eighty per cent in the middle!)

We are still dealing with serious people looking to buy and sell and with only one day off for Christmas between now and the end of the year, we would love to help you as well.
