A SINGER-SONGWRITER from Stroud who successfully crowdfunded the money to back her debut album is to launch it this week.

Saskia Griffiths-Moore, 23, raised £2,500 to pay for the production of her first album, Gentle Heart.

Friday sees the launch of Gentle Heart, with a gig at the Sub Rooms, which also heralds the start of Saskia’s UK tour.

There are 14 songs on the CD, all of which Saskia has written and composed, drawing from her life experiences over the last nine years. She is inspired by artists such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Eva Cassidy.

Saskia has previously featured on Johnny Coppin’s Acoustic Show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire, and reached number one in the reverbNation folk charts for Bristol.

She also performed at Stroud Fringe Festival.

The launch is in aid of the Stroud Valleys Project.

Passionate about the Stroud community Saskia said: “The idea is to involve local businesses, charities and professionals as much as possible and to make it a really exceptional community event.”
