SGS College has announced the next open event scheduled to take place at its Berkeley Green Campus.

The special event will be held at the college’s new £40million campus on Saturday April 16.

This much-hyped development is being transformed into a centre focusing on education, training, business start-up and research facilities.

The new campus, which is due to open September 2016, will offer some of the best training facilities in the country for the science, technology, mathematics and engineering industries and will also house the College’s University Technical College (UTC).

The Berkeley Green Campus open event, which takes place 10am-1pm, will offer potential students the chance find out about the new cyber security, engineering, construction and digital technologies provisions, which all start in September 2016.

There will also be an opportunity to tour the site and hear about planning for the new Green Skills Centre and UTC.

The Skills Centre itself will be developed over the next five years into a campus, which will incorporate education, training, business start-up and research facilities and will focus on the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Opening in 2017, the UTC will provide specialist, high quality, vocational and academic education for learners with a strong interest in Advanced Engineering and Digital Technologies.

SGS Berkeley Green UTC is one of sixty planned or already open University Technical Colleges nationally.

Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins said: “Our previous open events at the Berkeley Green Campus have been very popular and visitors have found them to be highly beneficial.

“If you are interested to discover what the new campus can offer you, pay us a visit on Saturday April 16.
