A COMMUNITY fair will be held in Berkeley tomorrow marking the launch of a project for older people in the area.

The event, at the Berkeley Arms between 11am and 2pm, will celebrate the launch of Full of Life in the town, a project focussed on improving the health and wellbeing of older people and keeping them connected with the community.

The free drop-in event is open to everyone and will include a range of activity taster sessions for people to try, information stalls, refreshments, together with musical entertainment from 1940s singer Richard Love.

The event is being organised by community organisation World Jungle who have delivered a number of similar events in the county.

Fiona Campbell of World Jungle said: “We are delighted to be able to extend this project to support people living around Berkeley and Sharpness.

“Lots of local groups and support organisations will be joining us on the day and we hope it will be a great way to raise awareness and kick off this project in the town, helping people to get active and feel a part of their community.”

Over the coming months the project will be running regular activity sessions at venues in both Berkeley and Sharpness promoting physical and mental health, nutrition, community connection and digital inclusion.
