TWO children were subjected to robbery attempts in Churchdown and Brockworth last Friday.

A 13-year-old girl was attacked in the first incident, which happened in Pirton lane in Churchdown between 3.35pm and 3.45pm.

A male, described as black, 5ft 7ins tall and wearing a black hooded top with black drawstrings, black jogging bottoms and black gloves jumped out from a hedge and tried to grab the victim's phone.

The victim kicked the offender between the legs and ran away, managing to keep hold of her phone.

The victim said that the male had been at a bus stop on the road prior to the incident.

In the second case, a 15-year-old boy was cycling home across fields between Tesco and Coopers Edge at around 8.15pm when he was approached by a man on a bike who shouted at him and then held up his fist, threatening him. The male stole the victim's Bench rucksack, which contained a key, and cycled off towards Tesco.

The robber in this incident is described as white, around 40 years old and with a clean shaven, wrinkly face.
