GLOUCESTERSHIRE Pride is set to return to Gloucester Park in just two weeks time.

The event, now in its 11th year, is the county's annual celebration of diversity.

The free entry festival will be taking place in the park on Saturday 11th June and the hours have been extended again this year starting at midday and finishing at 7pm.

It will feature more than 35 performers over four stages.

The main stage is headlined by 90s pop sensation Sonia. She was signed by Stock Aitken & Waterman back in the late 80s and her hits included 1989 No 1 single, You’ll Never Stop Me from Loving You, Listen To Your Heart and You’ve Got a Friend. She went on to represent the UK in Eurovision and also played Sandy in the West End production of Grease.

She will be joined on stage by X Factor finalist Lloyd Daniels who came fifth in the 2009 series, behind the likes of Olly Murs and Jedward and also performed the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Plus star of BBC Casualty and the movie Les Miserables, Amanda Henderson and The Voice finalist Tom Barnwell.

Add to this a dance music arena, the Vodka Revolution Cabaret Tent featuring some of the best in LGBT talent from across the country, a women’s stage, Danter’s Funfair, over 45 community, craft and catering stalls and the infamous relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere the Pride has.

This year there will be a new Family Zone, being supported by Gloucester City Homes, which features an enclosed picnic area with a bouncy castle, face painting and the Secret Garden nursery and baby changing facility.

Vice Chair, Richard Stevens, said: “Gloucestershire Pride gives all parts of the community the opportunity to integrate, whilst enjoying a really good day out.”
