HUNDREDS of runners are expected to turn out on Sunday for this year’s Oldbury Fun Run.

Entries for the annual four-mile race are still open, with between 800 and 1,000 participants expected to compete.

The fun run, which has taken place in the village for more than 20 years, is hoping to raise over £10,000 for a range of charities, including its main beneficiary CLIC Sargent.

A total of more than £75,000 has previously been raised by the event in past years.

As well as the run, this year the event includes a number of attractions including food stalls, ice cream, Punch and Judy, face painting and plans for a vintage tractor show.

The Anchor Inn, which is central to the event, next to the start and finish line, will have a band playing throughout the afternoon in the pub garden as well as a bouncy castle and outdoor skittles competition.

Trophies for the winners will be presented after the races in the pub’s garden.
