A SUSPECT arrested during Avon and Somerset's investigation into the murder of 25-year-old Melanie Hall, has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
The 45-year-old man was arrested on Thursday in connection with murder of Melanie in 1996.
Melanie was last seen at the former Cadillacs nightclub in Walcot Street, Bath, in the early hours of Sunday, June 9, 1996.
Her remains were found in vegetation off the northbound slipway at junction 14 of the M5 (Thornbury) in 2009.
Earlier this month Avon and Somerset Constabulary renewed their appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of her disappearance.
New leads had been identified after an item containing DNA was found at the scene where her body was found and advances in technology meant police could start building a DNA profile of her killer.
Melanie’s parents continue to be supported by specialist family liaison officers.
