GLOUCESTERSHIRE police say they have not experienced 'a spike' in race hate incidents following the EU referendum.
The comments come after a woman reported being racially abused in Cam today.
The woman reported being racially abused by a blond woman in a blue car near the One Church in Cam.
Any witnesses to this are asked to call 101 quoting incident 256 of June 27.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesman said: "We are aware that a number of racially-motivated hate comments have been made on social media following the EU referendum result last Friday.
"While we have not experienced a spike in race hate incidents in the county, it was reported to us today that a woman was racially abused by a blond woman in a light blue car at the crossing near the One Church in Cam.
"We would like to remind people that hate crime is wrong and are reassuring victims that we take hate crimes seriously."
