POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a suspected road rage incident in Yate.

One driver crashed into another vehicle after being followed around the town by an ‘aggressively-driven’ black Audi, police said.

The incident happened at around 9pm on Sunday (June 26) when the Audi was spotted being driven aggressively in Station Road. The driver then followed a Ford Fiesta around the Yate area.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “The Ford Fiesta was then involved in a road traffic collision with another vehicle. The Audi left the scene.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the incident, particularly the driver of a red Hyundai that was in Station Road at the time.

“The Hyundai left Yate and is thought to have driven towards the ring road, through Coalpit Heath.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tri Force roads policing unit on 101, quoting call cards 1555 and 1556 of the 26 June.
