A GROUP of friends and family completed the Three Peaks challenge to help local dancers take part in competitions.
The climbers reached the summits of the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales over the course of one weekend and raised £435 for V Dance Academy, which meets in Emerson’s Green.
One member, Lisa Phillips, raised £400 to be split between The Grand Appeal and a playground fund for St Paul's Primary School in Yate.
Yate businessman Jerry Milner and his daughter Emma Milner took part in the tri-mountain challenge, toppling Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in Wales, and raised an additional £540 for St John's Ambulance.
The money will help the dance academy buy new competition outfits and pay for entry to local dance championships.
