POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Bristol.

The incident took place on Sturminster Road, Stockwood, shortly after 7.20am on Saturday.

A man in his 30s was assaulted by a number of men resulting in serious injuries to his hand and head.

The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Avon and Somerset Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at this time.
