STUDENTS and staff at a school in Winterbourne are celebrating the start of the new academic year with the introduction of an exciting piece of art.
The five ideals of Winterbourne International Academy – Courtesy, Resilience, Integrity, Self-Reflection and Purpose – feature in the giant mural on the side of one of the school’s buildings along with images of it’s creative, sporting and academic sides.
Funded by the WIA Friends group, the impressive piece, which looks over the swimming pool, was created by Bristol-based graffiti artist Zase, and only took two days to create.
Praising the new introduction to the school, Winterbourne assistant principal Chris Jackson described it as “simply amazing”, adding “We've had so many local residents come in off the street to talk to me about it, but most importantly the students love the mural too.”
