POLICE in Thornbury are appealing for information from residents after two separate incidents of teenagers being approached by strangers last week.

A 15-year-old girl reported that a man had approached her on Tilting Road, at around 1.20pm on Friday, September 9, and made an indecent comment to her.

The girl described the man as white, in his teens or 20s and wearing a tan-coloured hoody.

Shortly afterwards, officers were called out after reports of a man making an indecent comment to an 18-year-old woman as she walked along an alley between Primrose Drive and Morton Way.

In this incident, which took place around 1.50pm, the man was described as being in his 40s, about 6ft tall and skinny, wearing glasses, a dark beige hoody, black work trousers, work boots and a cap.

The woman said she believed the man had followed her after having seen him earlier near the One Stop Shop.

Officers searched the area, but found no trace of anyone matching that description.

Thornbury beat manager PC Natalie Jones said: “Both of these young women were distressed by what happened. I would ask anyone who was in this area of Thornbury on Friday, or who recognises the descriptions, to get in touch with us.
