FIREWORKS will once again fill the skies over Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire next week, with plenty of bonfire night celebrations taking place.

Charfield Firework Night is on Friday, November 4 at Charfield Primary School. Gates open at 6.15pm and the fireworks start at 7.15pm.

There will be a full bar with refreshments and food including hot dogs, burgers and chips.

Ticket prices in advance are £5 for adults, £3.50 for children and free for pre-schoolers from the school office and the village shop. On the gate prices are £6 for adults and £5 for children.

Dursley Fireworks take place on Saturday, November 5 at the Recreation Ground in Kingshill Road. Gates open at 5pm and the with fireworks from 6pm.

The night of colour and sound is hosted by the Girlguiding Dursley District, with live entertainment, food, beer tent, glow stall, tuck shop and hot drinks. Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for children and free for under-threes.

The Wotton-under-Edge Firework Display is also on Saturday, November 5, being held at WCSF Sports Field, New Road.

Gates open at 6.30pm, initial fireworks at 7pm, bonfire lighting at 7.30pm and main firework display at 8pm.

The preliminary display features fewer rockets and loud noises.

Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for children and in advance tickets are £4 for adults, £3 for children and £14 for a family of two adults and three children.

Friends of Coaley School will be hosting a display on Sunday, November 6 with gates opening at 5.30pm for a 6pm start for the fireworks.

Tickets for under-12s are £2 and £4 for everyone else.

Meanwhile in South Gloucestershire, locals can attend Mundy Playing Fields will host The Thornbury Round Table Fireworks.

Gates open at 5.30pm, the bonfire is lit at 7pm and the main display will begin at 7.30pm.

Other entertainment includes a fire juggler and children’s displays at 6.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the News 4 You shop on Horseshoe Lane and Horders print shop on the High Street. Early bird Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Tickets purchased on the day at the gate cost £7 for adults and £3 for children. All profits go to local charities.

The Chantry’s Fireworks Night takes place on Castle Street, Thornbury, and begins at 6pm with fireworks at 7pm.

They offer lots of food including burgers and hot dogs, and drinks, including mulled wine, available from the bar.

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2.50 for children and can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre and from the centre itself.

All money raised goes towards the upkeep and renovations of The Chantry Centre. Call 01454 414268 for further details.

Winterbourne Scout Group is hosting its annual fireworks display at Sunny Acres Farm, Cloisters Road, in Winterbourne.

Gates open at 5.30pm and food is available from the barbecue. Burgers, hot dogs and will be supplied by a local butcher with drink will be available. The bonfire is lit at 6pm and the fireworks commence at 7pm.

Annual firework displays at the Village Playing Field in Easter Compton will take place on Saturday, November, 5, for Guy Fawkes Night.

Around £2,200 worth of fireworks will be let off on the night, organised by The Village Hall Committee and Carnival Sub-Group.

Refreshments and food including burgers, hot dogs and candy floss is available.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm, with fireworks due to start at 7pm.

Entry at the gate costs £5 for adults and £3 for children under 16. Access to the playing field is opposite The Fox pub and will be signposted.
