MACMILLAN’S cancer support team will be setting up shop in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to offer information and advice to those with cancer concerns.

The charity’s ‘Info Pod’ will be inside the main entrance of the hospital, from Monday, November 28 to Friday, December 2 while on its national tour of libraries hospitals and shopping centres.

The Macmillan team can answer any questions about cancer, including information about treatments, side effects, benefits advice and what support is available locally.

Helen Kennedy, Lead Cancer Information and Support Specialist, said: “We wanted to make sure we go even further this year to get support into the heart of the community.

“We’re here for anyone affected by cancer – those with a cancer diagnosis, friends, relatives and carers, everyone is welcome.

“Cancer is the toughest fight many people will ever face, and the feelings of isolation and loneliness that so many people experience make it even harder. But you don’t have to go through it alone.”

Last year Macmillan’s advice team gave advice to around 74,000 people in over 565 locations across the UK.

The hours for the information team are as follows: Monday, November 28, 10am-4pm, Tuesday, November 29, 10am-4pm, Wednesday, November 30, 12pm-6pm, Thursday, December 1, 12pm-6pm, Friday, December 2, 8am-12pm.
