LOSING a core member of the community is always tough for a town to get over, and the loss of Pang Lever is no exception.

It is hardly surprising that such a familiar face would leave a lasting impression with so many people and the tributes that have been paid to her following her passing show just how many people cared.

It is touching to see how loved she was. Even to those who merely interacted with Pang on a weekly basis when doing the shopping have come out to pay their respects to "Mama".

The Thornbury community has really shown an amazing charitable side in recent months, with fundraising for Lewis Evans and Ezzy Hodge having been given an amazing push simply by word of mouth, so for them to embrace another cause so close to Christmas is touching.

Hopefully this giving attitude can continue long after Pang's family have achieved their target to send her home.
