A CHILDREN’S charity received a £10,000 donation from a Chipping Sodbury-based housebuilder.

Suzanne Jones and Mandy Parker of Redcliffe Homes presented the cheque to Barnardo’s at their regional office in Bristol.

Director of Barnardo’s South West, Hugh Sherriffe, said: “We are sincerely grateful for this very generous donation which will help to transform the lives of so many children and their families.

“Every Barnardo’s service is different but each believes in the potential of every child and young person, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.

“This includes counselling for children who have been abused and exploited, plus work in the areas of advocacy, young carers, care-leavers, mental health, employment and training, and fostering and adoption.”

Redcliffe Homes use some of the money from each of the homes they sell to contribute to various charities, and have made an annual donation to Barnardo’s since 2010. This year’s has been their largest sum to date.

Managing director of Redcliffe Homes, Tom O’Connor, said: “Barnardo’s is a long-established charity which provides tremendous support to disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people.

“We are delighted to be able to support them during the year of their 150th anniversary.”
