POLICE and ambulance crews have been called to Slimbridge after a glider crashed into a power cable.
The glider had been part of the group joining paramotorist Sacha Dench for the final leg of the 7,000km flight from the Russian tundra to Gloucestershire, following the migration of Bewick’s swans, to see the challenges they face.
The crash in the field behind Slimbridge Primary school resulted in the cable snapping, the cable sparked until the power was disconnected.
Police have cordoned off the area.
Paramedics treated the glider at the scene but he did not suffer any serious injuries.
The incident occurred at 2.30pm, with ambulance crews arriving several minutes later.
