HER Royal Highness Princess Anne will officially open Dursley's new state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool complex on Friday.
The Pulse has been transformed in a series of improvements through a £1.7million investment by Stroud District Council, which operated the centre.
Work to develop a new sports centre and fitness studio was completed in July but will be officially opened by Princess Anne on Friday.
Angela Gillingham, general manager of The Pulse, said: “We’re delighted that Princess Anne will be officially opening The Pulse.
"It’s a fantastic place for local residents of all ages, and since we opened gym membership has exceeded all expectations.”
The Princess Royal will tour the new gym and fitness studio and will meet gym members and staff.
The event will be attended by invited guests and culminate in the unveiling of a plaque.
