OFFICERS will visit Yate town centre today in an effort to tackle the number of crimes in the area.

They will be around the centre from 10am to 3pm to talk to residents and answer any questions about their concerns.

This is part of Avon and Somerset Police’s Operation Hercules project that aims to tackle the biggest crime-related issues residents have.

To see more information and photographs from the event follow their twitter #OpHercules.

Police are also keen to have a photograph taken with residents. They are encouraging anyone who does to use #policeselfie and share it using @aspolice, for the best ones to be re-tweeted by police.
