EMERGENCY crews were called to a road accident in Yate after a car crashed into a lamppost in the early hours of this morning.
Eyewitnesses say that the silver Rover had been racing a red Ford Fiesta on Leech Pool Way just before 2am when it hit the lamppost and some bollards.
On arrival police said that no one was with the car.
A appliance was sent from Yate Fire Station which assisted in clearing the road.
