POLICE have released a CCTV image of a potential witness as part of an investigation into the death of a woman in South Gloucestershire.

The body of 43-year-old Joanne Denham was found on Hill Street in Kingswood just before 1pm on Sunday, with a post mortem finding her death to be consistent with being in a road traffic collision.

A 38-year-old man was been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and has been released on bail until March 6pending further enquiries.

The CCTV image shows a man who was seen outside Chasers nightclub at the time of the incident, but has now been taken down after the man came forward.

Detective Inspector Louise Boyce said: “This was a tragic incident and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Joanne’s family.

“We need the public’s help in identifying him as we’re keen to see if he has any information which could help our inquiry.

“We’re also keen for any residents or businesses with CCTV on Honey Hill Road, Hollow Road, Alma Road and Woodstock Road to get in touch as we’d like to review their footage between 11pm on Saturday and 1am on Sunday.

“In addition, we also want to speak to anyone who was driving through the area who has dashcam as we’d like to view their footage of the same period.”

Anyone with information that could assist in the police investigation is asked to call 101 immediately, using the reference 5217031937.
