A GYM in Thornbury is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its reopening by announcing partnerships with businesses across the town.
Elite Fitness, which boasts a membership of around 350 people from the area – more than 100 of which have joined in the past year.
The look of the gym has also changed since the reopening, when the gym was taken over by physical trainer Russell Knight, with new equipment and an expanded functional open floor space.
Mr Knight had worked at the gym for more than 10 years before taking over, having established a successful personal training enterprise – which he has now expanded with three more trainers.
Among the benefits for new members from the gym’s partners include discounts with Thornbury Golf Centre, Ronnie’s of Thornbury, Hawkes House and Surroundings.
Mr Knight said: “The partnerships with other business made sense. It feels better to be a friendly face and show we are a part of the community.
“What we are proud of is we have turned this into a gym focused on offering personal training, but where you can just turn up and train on your own.
“Everything has come together nicely in the past year, and I wouldn’t want anything to change at all right now.”
