DESPITE pleading guilty in court to watching videos of children being sexually abused, Matthew Gardner has repeatedly tried to portray himself as the victim in this case on social media.

In posts on Facebook and Snapchat, he has accused the Gazette of lying about the nature of his offences and has shown no remorse and no consideration for the true victims: the children who suffered horrific sexual abuse.

Gardner said ‘he might just overcome this’, suggesting that he has been somehow mistreated by the justice system and this newspaper for reporting on his crimes.

What about the children, including girls as young as 10, who were abused and degraded in the videos he watched? Will they ever overcome that?

Clearly Gardner doesn’t care.

He is a selfish, self-pitying, vile man who either can’t accept what he’s done or doesn’t think it’s wrong.

Oh, and he’s a liar too.

On social media he’s claimed to have complained to the Gazette for ‘making up’ the offences he committed.

We haven’t heard from him once.
