OVER 150 motorbike riders passed through Yate last Friday to pay their respects at the funeral of their "biker brother".

Terry Woodcock, 58, from Downend, passed away from a heart attack in February after battling with his health for several years.

He was a long-standing member of United Bikers MC Sodbury, a group of motorbike enthusiasts from Chipping Sodbury and the surrounding areas.

Terry's friend, Nick Perry, known as 'Sodbury Nick' in biker circles, accompanied him on his last ever motorbike bike ride.

In a specially designed motorbike hearse, Nick drove Terry through Yate to his final resting place at Westerleigh Crematorium.

It was a fitting tribute to the friendly “biker brother”, who was described by his friend Nick as being a "sociable and charitable guy".

Speaking of his friend, Nick said: “Terry was a really nice guy and would talk to anyone.

"He was always at the forefront of selling tickets for the Sodbury motorbike shows, which raise money for charity.

“I believe he was quite popular with the dialysis people at Southmead and Cossham Hospital during his illness.”

Over 150 bikers from motorcycle groups across the UK, including Hells Angels and United Bikers Great Britain, followed Terry's hearse in a convoy through Yate at 1pm on Friday, March 24.

Bikers travelled from as far as Cornwall to pay their respects to the former biker, who had been experiencing health problems since 2010.

Nick said: "Terry is a real fighter, but he became ill in seven years ago after almost dropping down dead at Travis Perkins in Winterbourne.

"He was in hospital for several months, and was unwell for years after."

Terry is survived by his daughter, Charlene, and son, Steve.
