POLICE are appealing for witnesses and a van driver to come forward after a road accident in Edge on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at 4.20pm between A4173 Edge Lane and Cud Lane.

A large silver or light blue van pulled out in front of a moped rider in Edge Lane and onto the A4173.

Their vehicles did not collide but the 18-year-old man from Quedgeley moped driver had to swerve to avoid the van and fell off.

He broke his wrist and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

However, the driver of the car did not stop at the scene, it is not yet known if they knew they caused the accident or whether it was a hit-and-run incident.

Police are investigating the situation and are urging members of the public to get in touch if they saw the incident.

The driver left the scene in the direction of Gloucester of down Severnleaze Lane.
