TWO TEENAGERS have been charged with dropping items onto passing vehicles from motorway bridges over the M49 and M5 on the border of South Gloucestershire.

Jordan Alan Arendorf, 19, and Peter John Nugent, 18, both of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, were charged today with nine counts of criminal damage, nine counts of causing danger to road users and one count of assault.

Arendorf and Nugent will appear before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on May 4.

The charges relate to incidents between April and June last year where items were thrown from a bridge over the two motorways near Kings Weston Lane.

The assault charge relates to a stone slab going through the windscreen of a cement lorry, hitting the driver on June 14.
