A WARRANT for the arrest of a Dursley man was issued on Friday at Gloucester Crown Court after he failed to attend for his sentencing on a drugs charge.

Benjamin Ogbourne, 37, of Acacia Drive, Dursley had admitted production of a Class B drug when he appeared before Cheltenham magistrates on Feb 28 and was due for sentence last Friday.

The magistrates' court was told in February that Ogbourne produced the drug at Lydney Industrial Estate on September 13, last year.

Ogbourne did not attend the hearing on April 7 and his lawyer, Diane Hays, said that she had been unable to contact him by telephone and had no explanation for his non attendance.

The court noted that Ogbourne had attended for his pre-sentence report interview with the probation service, but he had made no contact to explain his absence.

Judge Michael Cullum therefore ordered a warrant without bail be issued for his arrest to bring him to court.
