WEEKS after becoming the first wheelchair user in the country to take part in an able-bodied beauty pageant, a Kingswood woman is taking part in a second.

Chloe Ball-Hopkins, who has also had success in wheelchair tennis and para-archery, has launched a charity fundraising bid after being named ‘Miss Catwalk Perfect Bristol’.

The 20-year-old made the finals of the Miss Bristol pageant earlier this month in a bid to encourage people in similar situations who may be suffering with low-confidence.

Despite not winning the competition, Chloe has entered her second pageant.

She said: “I was the first wheelchair user in England to do an abled-bodied pageant and I did that to encourage others with low self-confidence, whether that is through a "disability" or not, to feel like they too could step outside of their comfort zone so to say.”

As part of Catwalk Perfect UK, participants are encouraged to support charities, alongside the normal beauty element.

Chloe, who completed a fundraising skydive in 2013, will be taking the leap for a second time.

“This year the event is in partnership with The Brain Tumour Charity and weirdly one of my best friends passed away from a Brain Tumour in 2013 so I felt like it was meant to be,” the former KLB student added. “I am a firm believer everything happens for a reason.

“The Catwalk Perfect UK Grand Final takes place in Peterborough on November 4 so I have between now and then to raise as much as I can for the charity.

“Being 2017 I would love to raise at least £2,017 - being used to doing fundraising I like to set my bar high.

“I did a skydive in 2013 and my friend told me before she passed away she wanted to do it with us, but she didn’t make it, so it’s only right that that is one of the fundraisers.”

To donate to Chloe’s charity efforts either visit justgiving.com/Chloe-MCPB or text MCPB77 with the amount you would like to donate (£1, £2, £5 or £10) to 70070.

Fundraising buckets will also be put up in shops across the area.
