PHOTOS of the Cam and Dursley area are being sought to fill a popular fundraising calendar.

Organised each year by Dursley Town Trust, the calendar supports its work across the area which includes maintenance and improvements at Dursley Town Hall.

Production has now started on the 2018 edition and photos of Cam and Dursley are needed to fill its pages.

“We’re just starting work on our 2018 calendar,” said trust chairman Mike Doughty. “We had some excellent photos sent to us for last year’s calendar and we want to make the next one just as good.

“We need photos showing different parts of Dursley and Cam and the surrounding area in different seasons.

“Finding a photo of a local scene with a Christmas theme for the December page can be a particular challenge, for example, so we’re hoping residents can help us out.”

Photos are welcomed from either individuals or organisations but must be clearly recognisable as having been taken in the Dursley and Cam area.

More landscape photos than portrait are required. The trust cannot guarantee that every photo it receives will be used.

“The Trust has been fundraising to install a lift in the Town Hall - which will mean more people will be able to use the lovely upstairs hall - and selling calendars is our biggest annual fundraiser,” added Mr Doughty.

“The proceeds also help us keep the town hall in good repair - it’s an expensive building to maintain and decorate, but it’s an important building for the town.”

Submissions must be sent to Hilary Fowles at hilaryfowles@yahoo.com by June 30.
