BATH Road in Nailsworth was blocked after a car flipped onto its roof.

The incident occurred at 7.20pm at the junction where Tetbury Lane meets the main road through the town.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene to assess injuries and clear debris.

It is not yet known if any injuries were sustained or what caused the accident.

This junction is just a short distance from where a similar incident happened on January 25.

On that occasion a Renault Kangoo van swerved to avoid a car coming out of Old Bristol Road onto Bath Road and ended up skidding on its site down Butcher Hill's Lane.

A man and woman managed to climb out of the van but a boy - believed to be their son - had to be freed by firefighters.

At the time, residents and councillors called for further safety measures to improve visibility and a previously faulty vehicle assisted sign at the junction was repaired immediately.
