A WOMAN has been arrested by police and charged with drink-driving after an incident which saw her car land on its roof in Bath Road, Nailsworth.

Police were called to an incident near the Harley Wood junction with the main road just after 7pm on Friday.

Officers found a Fiat Panda on its roof in the road.

The female driver, named by police as 53-year-old Rosamund Lee from Upper Tynings in Cashes Green, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to assess her injuries.

Following this she was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit.

She is on bail set to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ on Monday, May 22.

This junction is just a short distance from where a similar incident happened on January 25.

On that occasion a Renault Kangoo van swerved to avoid a car coming out of Old Bristol Road onto Bath Road and ended up skidding on its site down Butcher Hill's Lane.

A man and woman managed to climb out of the van but a boy - believed to be their son - had to be freed by firefighters.

At the time, residents and councillors called for further safety measures to improve visibility and a previously faulty vehicle assisted sign at the junction was repaired immediately.
