RESIDENTS in Chipping Sodbury are invited to comment on a proposed new housing development in the town.

Cotwold Homes plan to build a maximum of 60 homes, 21 of which will be affordable, off Trinity Lane.

They are seeking the views of the community on how they believe the housing site should be designed and what local facilities should be included.

A spokesman for Cotswold Homes said: "We already have a vision for a scheme but it is important we get feedback from the local community.

“The site is sustainable being within easy walking distance of the town centre and its local facilities and is adjacent to public transport.

“There will also be an above normal level of public open space which could be made available for a wider community benefit.

“Furthermore, the design and layout being presented takes into account the surrounding landscape, local features and addresses technical issues such as ecology, highways and flooding.

“There will be an investment in Community Infrastructure and local services which we expect to be in the region of £350-450,000 and this would be spent on the provision, improvement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure which includes but not limited to transport, schools, and medical facilities."

It is expected that a planning application will be submitted to South Gloucestershire Council in the next few months.

Should the proposals be approved, a range of detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses will be built, alongside some bungalows and flats.

The consultation website will be going live on Friday, May 12 until June, 2.

All feedback received will be analysed and the final design will be amended, if appropriate, in line with comments from residents that will improve the proposals.
