A NEW university technical college, due to launch in September, will open its doors on June 1 for a half-term community fair of activities and workshops for prospective students and community members alike.

SGS Berkeley Green, which has been funded through a £30million investment, is aimed at people wishing to study engineering, manufacturing, construction, digital technologies and cyber security.

The day will also offer the opportunity to view the campus, as well as a chance to try your hand at archery, a climbing wall and various sports and health activities.

Alongside this there will also be workshops on engineering and cyber security.

George Ridd, site director at Berkeley Green, said: “It’ll be a great day for people to come down and see what we’re about and what makes Berkeley Green so unique, and it promises to be a fun packed day with the activities we have planned. We wanted to offer a great day out to anyone interested in the new campus, so we’re really looking forward to it – the archery and climbing wall will be a big highlight, as will the engineering and cyber security-based activities.”
