PRIMETIME television fans were surprised this evening as Thornbury Castle was announced as the main prize in Britain’s Got Talent’s viewer competition.
As part of a prize worth over £100,000, in connection with Guy Richie’s new film King Arthur, Legend of the Sword, the winner would get a five-night stay at the castle as well as a BMW M5 X Sport worth £50,000, a special screening of the film and a two night stopover in London, plus £35,000 in cash.
The castle, an unfinished 16th century fortress, has been operating as a luxury hotel, and has recently gone on the market for £8.5million.
