The resolutions for NFWI were on alleviating loneliness in the elderly, and on reducing the ‘plastic soup’ in our oceans; both were passed unanimously.

Members were reminded about the visit to craft centre and museum, and that both our teams qualified for the next round of the quiz.

The skittles group’s next match will be against Bishop’s Cleeve.

Reports were given from the specialist groups; walking, history, craft and book club, with details of their next events.

An invitation was received to Bibury with Barnsley’s Centennial display in July.

Choir members are needed for the Christmas concerts, names taken for tickets for the Christmas Concert with Wynne Evans.

GFWI are asking members to submit designs for a wall hanging for the Gloucester room at Denman.

Pauline and Joyce have asked members to bring items for the sales table, please. Mary kindly offered to hold a garden party in aid of Denman.

Angela Panrucker then gave a very fast moving, illustrated talk about ‘The Most Noble Order of the Garter’.

Heather gave a vote of thanks for a very entertaining talk, and a reminder that at the next meeting June King will talk about ‘The Tyndale Monument’.
