NO.XQQ.IV.IT. This was one of the clues in a game at The Old Sodbury WI birthday meeting this month.

We celebrated 98 years with our president Angela Barber, longest serving member Elizabeth Arney and newest member Kathy Maubach cutting the celebration cake.

Members gave a a hearty rendition of ‘Happy Birthday to you’.

Our village hall was decorated with bunting and the meeting began with ‘Jerusalem’ followed by a welcome to members.

Pretty buttonholes were given to the ladies who celebrated birthdays this month.

An important part of the evening was set aside for discussion on the two resolutions which will be voted upon at the AGM.

Angela Barber presented alleviating loneliness and Linzie Clark spoke about plastic soup and keeping micro plastic fibres out of our oceans.

Everyone was in favour of calling upon the community and government to take action on these issues.

Members look forward to a skittles evening and a trip to The Children’s Hospice South West in June.

Tea and Croquet in July and an outing to Rodmarton Manor in August.

Members had the tricky task of working out the catch phrases in a game of ‘Ding-bats’, this caused hilarity and much racking of brains.
