CROWDS gathered in Cirencester town centre at noon today for a medieval parade, as part of a day of activities thanks to The Plantagenet Medieval Society.
As part of the Abbey 900 Festival, numerous medieval-themed activities have been taking place since yesterday morning in The Abbey Grounds, with the excitement set to continue.
The parade, led by a 'king' on horseback went down Black Jack Street and through the Market Place before heading back to The Abbey Grounds, as the rain poured down.
Many people braved the weather and gathered in doorways and under canapes to catch a glimpse of the procession, which included around 30 actors in period costumes.
